History of Alice Garg National Seashells Museum Jaipur

Alice Rustomjee received a tiny seashell as a birthday gift from her father six decades ago. When her father sang the swan song, she became even more possessive and protective of the present. She had no idea that one day, collecting seashells would become a hobby for her and that she would open India's only seashell museum. She is still devoted to each and every piece of shell in her museum.

The Alice Garg National Seashell Museum results from Alice and her husband Krishna Garg's hard work. It aims to make nature's breath-taking beauty visible to the general public, whose eyes crave these shells' unique color patterns and peculiar shapes. Alice feels that the establishment of this museum will contribute to the scientific study of biological diversity and evolution.

#Trivia: Alice Garg is a notable social worker and educator involved in the upliftment of the economically and socially disadvantaged communities of India for the past 40 years and counting. While collecting seashells is her passion, she has channelised her effort and energy towards the betterment of the society.

Inspiration from the Museum

The museum is a good source of inspiration for designers and architects.

What if a civil engineer comes across this shell? It will motivate him to construct an inventive structure. Thus, this shell can behave as a model for a world-famous innovation structure.

All engineers are working hard to find a unifying theme in their products, i.e., light, subtle, and more stable. The shells here are perfect examples of light and subtle architecture.

No Hex Code or RGB (Red, green, blue) colour palette can match the colour and pattern found in nature. The colours have merged so wonderfully with the design in these seashells. These colour palettes, gradients, and patterns will spring to mind whenever designers make a poster, flyer, or anything to enhance their work.
